FALSE RUMOR: HERDSMEN ATTACK WITHIN LAGOS/OGUN STATE.

Herdsmen attack

  The attention of the Zone 2 Police Command has been drawn to the false news circulating on social media that some herdsmen are attacking and killing innocent citizens within Lagos,Ogun State axis.  The false letter and voice notes circulating indicates that there will also be an attack on 6th and 7th  February 2018.

  The Command wishes to state that the news is not only a baseless rumor but it is also false as such incident never occurred in that axis.  It is an attempt by some unscrupulous elements to disrupt the peaceful co-existence being enjoyed by the various tribes and people within Lagos and Ogun States.

   The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, AIG Adamu Ibrahim, psc,mni however has directed the commissioners of police in charge of the two states to beef up security within the state not only to avoid such occurrence but to also ensure that there is no ethnic clash within the states.

   Mischief makers are hereby warned to desist from malicious publications that are capable of causing panic within the two states or be ready to face the wrath of the law as the Command will not tolerate such unguarded publications. 

 Members of the public are hereby implored to go about their lawful activities and report suspicious criminal attempt to disrupt public peace as officers and Men of the two states in the Zone will not relent in their efforts to ensure sustainable peace and security.
